CIA Model of Tension ReductionA saying that you've probably heard a lot in business, in sports, and human performance generally is governing the controllable. What does that basically mean? I wanted to consider this concept of governing the controllable, which is actually excellent advice mind you, and take it out from the whole world of like a cliché and in to the whole world of something we can actually do.
In our workshops we'll use something called the CIA Model to aid students gain understanding of this concept and lower stress in their own personal lives. It's pretty obvious to see this model so here's the short form.
CIA stands for Control Influence Accept. All from the circumstances and situations that individuals find inside ourselves will fall under one of these brilliant three categories. I am going to discuss them backwards order.
There is definitely an enormous amount of things inside our world that we must accept. Weather, traffic patterns, scores and connection between games that individuals're not actually playing in. One from the best things that people can do for the own satisfaction is always that when there's a thing that we must accept, is basically only to accept it not waste any injury trying to change it.
The second category are things that we influence. The two big things that fall under this are the immediate environment, your automobile, work, your home, and other people that you deal with. Listen, we do not have complete control over our little ones, our colleagues, etc, but perform have influence over them, then one with the best stuff that that you can do for your own personel growth is that in circumstances where you have influence to exercise that influence will dramatically enhance your self-esteem.
Now we visit the category of things we could control. We're here to discuss governing the controllable. Well, do you know what, folks? I've found that there are really merely one thing one of several things that we can control. It's your decisions.
That's right, your decisions about your daily life will be the only thing that individuals have direct control over. When you realize this, it is type of confronting and kind of liberating all concurrently. Stop attempting to control issues that you haven't any treating. I don't play a whole lot of poker, but one thing that I have often heard is winning at cards, specifically poker, has a bit to do with they that you are dealt, and it features a huge amount about the method that you make decisions and play the cards that you simply're dealt.
